Creative Directing
Sunshine Getaway
I am the Creative Director of Sunshine Getaway, a horror game developed in a single semester. I led a talented team of 8 people who worked on the game alongside me. My role involves overseeing the creative vision, developing the original story and characters, and ensuring that every aspect of the game aligns with our artistic goals. I strive for collaboration between team members, making sure that everyone is being heard.
Reflection
Sunshine Getaway is a game that I started working on in the Spring of 2022. At Webster University, there is a Video Game Production class where two teams work on two different games. The students can pitch their own game to develop in the class. I picked my game, Sunshine Getaway. My game was picked, so I was able to direct my own video game.
I never thought I'd bring it to the place where it is now, working on it as a Creative Director with a team. Developing my own game like this has been a dream since I was young, so finally being able to fulfill that dream in this role has been gratifying to me.

During this experience, I have utilized the leadership skills I have developed over my years at Webster University. I have displayed my leadership style throughout the development process of Sunshine Getaway, making sure my teammates are being productive, but still harboring a open and relaxed environment. I worked alongside my Project Manager to give out tasks and organize our sprint sheet.

Overall, this experience has made me grow as a person and game designer, and I plan on continuing to develop Sunshine Getaway in the future to make it even better.
